Be Filled

Acts 2: 1-4

Following an amazing retreat, we continue to explore on the topic of the Holy Spirit.  How do we maintain or keep up being filled with the Holy Spirit? We must commit ourselves to stop doing the things that quench the Spirit and be devoted to doing what incite His influence in our lives.  In that, we highlight having personal time with Jesus and ridding sins that distract us from our pursuit.

Who Is Your Neighbor?

Luke 10:30-37

Sharing the experiences that the mission team had, and seeking to respond to the call of being a good neighbor.  We want to fully immerse ourselves in standing with those that are in need of love and care.  Can you dare create room in your life so others can heal and be strong in the Lord?

Even If He Does Not...

Even if God does not deliver us from our difficult situation, even if God does not heal our loved one, even if God does not answer our prayers with a "yes", even if God does not we will still honor Him?  Even if He does not, is He still worthy of our worship?  Is there anything God will have to do more for us in order to receive our obedience and commitment?  His sacrifice, His forgiveness, His love and His life for us is enough for our total allegiance to Him.  We are quick to run after idols and so quick to dismiss God, while we are so hesitant and slow to obey Him.  Today we will look at three brothers who were unwilling to give up their commitment to God even if He does not...

Passage: Daniel 3:10-18

Waiting

Psalm 40:1-5

In the journey of faith, there are seasons where we find ourselves deep in the pit.  There seems to be no answer, no sign of help from anywhere where your anxiety and fear only grow.  What does the Bible say about going through such moments?  We glean from the experiences of King David as he found himself in the same situation.  There, he cried out to the LORD and waited patiently for Him to come to his rescue.

#INTIMATECOMMUNITY

Hashtag "intimate community" has been our social media tag for some years now.  Intimate Community is something that we, as a church, desire and seek for.  So, are we experiencing intimate community in our church?  Are we living out our hashtag?  Will people say that intimate community is a highlighted experience at Rooftop?  Today, I will like for us to glean from the first church of what intimate community in a Biblical sense may look like.  My prayer is that "intimate community" will not just be a hashtag, but a real experience at Rooftop.

Passage: Acts 2:42-47

Romans Series - What Do People Say About Me?

What do people say about you?  Not about your appearance, career or accomplishments, but about your faith in Christ and your partnership in the Gospel?  Will those around us and those who know us describe us as those who truly love God and love people?  Will our spouses or friends say that we exude the love and humility of Christ?  Will our church members describe us as faithful and hard-working when it comes to our service to the church and partnership in the Gospel?  What do people say about us and how will they remember us?  We have been given a task on this earth to conform to the likeness of Christ, to be His witnesses and to live for His glory.  Will, people attest to those things about us?

Passage: Romans 16:1-16

Romans Series - Don't Be Trippin'

Romans 14:15-21

We continue on the topic of community living and accountability.  Why is it so important for us to be mindful of our actions as well as our behaviors?  We explore what it means to be responsible in shaping the corporate identity of the spiritual community we belong to.  Are there things in your life that may be a hindrance to someone’s faith life?  We should humble ourselves in love and pursue “peace and the building up of one another.”

Romans Series - H.U.G.

H.U.G.  As a church, we are to HUG.  HUG is an acronym to simplify three points that we can find in our passage for the church to practice.  HUMILITY.  We are to be humble towards one another.  Humility is not about thinking less of yourself, but rather thinking of yourself less; all for the sake of edifying a fellow believer.  UNITY.  We, as a church, are called to be united.  Not to think alike and agree on anything and everything or share the same preferences, but to be united in attitude and purpose.  And that attitude and purpose is found in Christ.  GLORY.  Our purpose and goal is to ultimately bring glory to God.  When we practice humility, think in unity we will bring glory to our God together as a church.

Passage: Romans 15:1-6

Forgotten Battle

Ephesians 6:10-20

Too many Christians dismiss the truth of spiritual warfare.  The Bible is clear in teaching that there are influences and forces that work beyond the realm of the physical, emotional, and mental.  This means that many of what we encounter may be as results of what occur in the spiritual realm.  The enemy is relentless in stifling us so that we do not live the full life that God intends for us.  We want to properly be equipped in fighting these battles—thwarting temptations, protecting our faith at all costs.  Also, prayer is not just helpful in one’s faith, but it is necessary.
