Giving God What is His - Finances Pt 2

We are wrapping up our series on “Giving God What is His”. Today, we will discuss financial stewardship. Many Christians fail to acknowledge the need to be educated on why or how we can give financially to God. Christians aren’t called to dispossession rather proper possession of things. Being good stewards mean that we are to be free from debt, greed and begin living a life of giving as it is our worship on to God.

Giving God What is His - Finances Pt 1

We are wrapping up our series on “Giving God What is His”. Today, we will discuss the importance of giving and not fall in the trap of distrusting God when we fail to surrender our material possessions to Him. Many Christians fail to acknowledge the need to be educated on why or how we can give financially to God. Christians aren’t called to dispossession rather proper possession of things.

Understanding Your Giftedness

As a follow up to last week’s Myers-Briggs test, we will be going through our spiritual giftedness. In identifying the spiritual gifts (Bible-based), we will also learn how they fit and work together with our personalities (MBTI) and our gifts-set. Our goal for today is simple—to know that there is distinct purpose in how God has shaped us and to use our giftedness in serving/building the Christ’s body.

Foot, Hand, Ear, and Eye

We'll continue our talk on "Giving God What is His--Talents". Our aim is to discover/identify how God has made us. In understanding our personalities and our tendencies in social interactions or in working environments, we want to know how we can better serve our church. Five & Two

God will take whatever we have, whatever we are wiling to give to the Lord and use it for His purposes. Our usefulness is not in what we have or don't have rather it is in our surrender and willingness to yield to the Lord. In today's text, we learn that God uses every piece / every person that compromise the scene--Andrew, the boy with five loaves and two fish, Simon, and even Philip who is usually thought to be lacking in faith. Whatever our five loaves & two fish may be, God will use every one of us according to His good and perfect ways, so long as we yield to Him. Every member of Rooftop shall find a way to be used by God in building this church together.

Is It Worth Your Time?

In giving God our time, we will discuss the importance/function of prayer. In our lives, we always find room to include what we deem valuable—1-hour gym session after work; 15- minute power nap during lunch break, or even eating 3 square meals. How important is prayer? How well does our schedule reflect its importance? Today, we will focus on the purpose and the practice of prayer.

Give to God What is His Pt. 2 - Time

We are following up on last week’s sermon on “Giving God what is His.” As we bear the image of God, we render to Him all that we are. In attempt to cover the key areas of life, we will begin by discussing giving God our time. We will learn what it means to be good stewards of time—giving Him not what is left over and seizing every opportunity that He invites us to join Him at His work.

Give to God What is His Pt. 1

We seek to begin exploring what it means to be a Rooftop church member. There are a handful of values that we really cling on to as a body; and this notion of surrender (total surrender) is an important thing for us to grasp as we seek to live life as worthy disciples of Christ. Surrender is never easy, but it is never not a requisite in fully encountering God. Today shall serve as the foundation of many more weeks of teaching on this topic.

Vision to Reality

Continue on the talk of vision. If last week was about the importance of vision, today is about viability of vision. Not only those without vision perish, but many also perish along the way of pursuing their vision. We want to learn how to nurture a vision for a long period which can be grueling and require much patience and persistence. We also want to discuss the current journey of Rooftop Church—what it means to be a new church, how to grow, what we are growing to do…

Holy Spirit Pt. 3 - A Beautiful Church

Continue on the talk of the beginning of the Church. Subsequent to the teachings on the Holy Spirit, we will look into how the early church came to its existence. The filling of the Spirit led to the Christian Church to be launched—their devotion to God was displayed by their devotion to one another. The sense of community was undeniable during that time. In this sermon, we aim to learn the importance of radical commitment to love and serve one another. Our significance/pleasure must come from bettering the lives of those around us.
